DMI/ADX in one pane: ADX above the threshold means there is a trend worth following; +DI over −DI tells you its direction. Handy as a filter for other strategies.
Classic Supertrend (ATR bands that flip with the trend) with the flip points marked and alerts on both sides. - Green line under price = uptrend, red above = downtrend. - Raise the factor for fewer, longer trends; lower it for faster flips. - Works on any market; try 4h on majors and gold.
Internal Structure plots the swing pivots and stair-step structure line of the current timeframe only. (HTF overlay is parked until request.security() is available in the runtime.) - Plot shows HH/LH/HL/LL classification of every confirmed pivot. - Use on lower timeframes to read the micro-structure inside a higher-TF range. - Combine with the premium / discount indicator for cleaner entries. - Internal structure drives entries; HTF structure drives the bias. - When internal structure disagrees with HTF structure, take the HTF direction with internal entries. - Default swing = 5; raise to 10+ for cleaner internal structure on noisy instruments. - Alerts fire for every internal HH/LL/LH/HL classification so you can track micro-structure live. - Stack this indicator with a HTF structure overlay (separate chart) to read multi-TF confluence.
Break of Structure (BOS) marks the bar where price takes out the previous swing high (bullish) or swing low (bearish) in the direction of the prevailing trend. - Bullish BOS = new high beyond the last swing high; bearish BOS = new low beyond the last swing low. - Triangles plot on break; an optional confirmClose filter requires the candle to close beyond the level. - Use BOS, not random breakouts, to align with smart-money positioning. - A BOS in the direction of the prevailing trend is a continuation signal; against the trend it is the precursor to a CHoCH. - Default swing = 5 (works well on 1m–1h); raise to 10+ on daily charts for structural breaks. - Pair with a higher-timeframe trend filter (HTF swing) for cleanest signals. - A BOS that closes strongly (full body through the level) is far more reliable than one that only touches the level with its wick. - Toggle the triangle markers off via showArrows if you want a cleaner chart.
Market Structure classifies every confirmed swing as HH/HL/LH/LL so you can read the trend at a glance. - Step plot holds the most recent swing high/low until a new pivot prints. - Labels appear above/below each confirmed pivot: HH/LH above, HL/LL below. - Use the stair-step line + labels to trade with the dominant sequence. - Higher-Low after Lower-Lows is the textbook bullish change of character; Lower-High after Higher-Highs is the bearish mirror. - A clean HH/HL sequence (no LH/LL) is the highest-quality trend day you can find. - Combine with a higher-timeframe structure overlay to confirm whether internal structure agrees with the dominant trend. - Default swing = 5, which works well on 1m–15m charts; raise it to 10+ for swing structure. - The pivot confirmation is delayed by swing bars — there is no repaint on the live bar. - Use the colour inputs to theme the high/low stair-step lines independently.
Trend Quality Index (TQI) — |close − SMA| divided by the standard deviation of close. Higher = price is far from its own mean (trending / stretched); lower = price is hugging the mean (ranging). - Use 1.5 as the 'overextended' stall to fade; 0.5 as the 'ranging' stall to breakout-trade.
Market Sentiment Composite — combines short/long MA spread, a 50-bar trend bias, and volume confirmation into a single sentiment score. 0 = bullish, <0 = bearish; |score| 25 = high conviction. - Read as a single-number sentiment gauge that can replace 3 indicators.
Price Volume Confirmation — a 3-state composite: +1 when both trend and volume agree, -1 when both disagree, 0 when only one is bullish. Stack green bars for high-conviction longs; stack red for shorts. - Trend = close 20-Wilder-MA; volume = current 20-SMA.
ATR Volatility Ratio — short ATR divided by long ATR. Above 1 = volatility expanding; below 1 = volatility contracting. Crosses of 1 mark regime shifts in the noise. - Below 0.7 for many bars = coiled spring; size up on the breakout.
Market Phase Detector — bins the market into 3 regimes using ADX (trending vs ranging) and MACD histogram (bullish vs bearish): +1 = trending bullish, -1 = trending bearish, 0 = ranging. - Use to switch strategy: only trend-follow when |phase| = 1.
Trend Strength Oscillator — multiplies ADX (raw trend) by the normalised distance of RSI from 50 and the normalised distance of Stoch from 50. High = strong, directional move; low = ranging. - Use 0.3 as the threshold for 'trend active'.
Composite Buy/Sell Score — blends 5 weighted components: RSI position (25), MACD histogram sign (25), DMI bias (25), ADX trend strength (25), Stochastic position (25). Range -100 to +100. - Above +50 = strong buy bias; below -50 = strong sell bias. - Filter trades by requiring |score| 25.
Multi-MA Composite — Wilder-smoothed MAs at 20 / 50 / 200 plotted together. A fan-pattern (faster MAs above slower) flags the trend and confirms breakouts; the 200-MA is the long-term regime line. - Buy when 20 50 200 and pullback to 20 holds. - Sell on 20 crossing below 50.
Trend Score Composite — sums the directional sign of the last four close-vs-prev-close deltas and scales to ±100. +100 = four bars of strict higher closes; -100 = four bars of strict lower closes. - Filter chop by requiring |score| 50. - Built-in regime read at a glance.
Ease of Movement Smoothed — a smoothed version of the classic EMV, dividing the mid-price move by volume-normalised range. Smoothed with an SMA so zero-line crosses are clean signals. - Above 0 = price moving up on low effort (bullish). - Below 0 = price falling on low effort (bearish).
Market Meanness Index (MMI) — ratio of the standard deviation of the price-vs-SMA distance to its mean absolute deviation. High MMI = trending (heavy tails), low MMI = mean-reverting (Gaussian). - Use with a regime filter to switch between trend-following and mean-reversion strategies.
Coppock Curve — the original long-term buy signal: WMA(ROC(14) + ROC(11), 10). Zero-line turns are major buy / sell signals on monthly and weekly charts. - Best on monthly/weekly S&P and BTC. - Avoid on tick charts (it's a long-horizon signal).
Hurst Exponent — simplified log-ratio approximation of the rescaled-range statistic. Above 0.5 the series is trending (persistent), below 0.5 it's mean-reverting (anti-persistent), exactly 0.5 is a random walk. - Pair with an EMA crossover: only trade trend signals when Hurst 0.5. - Mean-reversion setups only when Hurst < 0.5.
Adaptive MACD — fast and slow EMA lengths scale with the Efficiency Ratio. Trends compress the windows for sharper crosses; chop widens them so the MACD doesn't whipsaw. - Histogram (h) flips are the signal; 0 line is the bias.
Ehlers Roofing Filter — bandpasses price through a high-pass then a low-pass; only the actionable cycle survives. Strip away trend and noise to see the pure swing. - Plot close over the filter; trade only in the direction of the filter slope.
Ehlers Reflex — the smoothed distance from the recent highest close. Highlights reflexive bounces off the rolling peak. - Drops below 0 = price lost the rolling peak; recovers above 0 = new high. - Trend filter when stacked with a 200-bar MA.
Ehlers Hilbert Trendline — a simple weighted moving sum that approximates the in-phase component of the Hilbert transform. Smoother than a 4-bar SMA, with no lag amplification. - Overlay the trigger (just the 2-bar projection of price) for entry signals. - Cheaper to compute than the full Hilbert engine.
Ehlers MESA Adaptive Moving Average (MAMA / FAMA) — the first derivative of the dominant cycle phase. MAMA tracks price, FAMA is the slower confirmation; MAMA FAMA = trend up. - alpha controls the maximum adaptation speed; smaller = more conservative. - Best on volatile instruments where standard MAs lag too much.
Ehlers Instantaneous Trendline (ITrend) — a low-lag trend line from a 3-pole IIR filter; smoother than an EMA at the same length but adapts to volatility through alpha. - Buy when price crosses above the trigger (the 2-bar-prior price projection). - The line flips direction faster than a 50-EMA.
