Turtle-style breakout: go long when price closes above the highest high of the last N bars, exit on a close below the lowest low of a shorter window. Includes an ATR stop. Open the Strategy Tester to see trades, equity and drawdown.
When Bollinger Bands move inside the Keltner Channel, volatility is compressed — a squeeze. The histogram shows which way momentum is building; grey background marks the squeeze. A common read: wait for the squeeze to release and trade in the direction of the histogram.
Break of Structure (BOS) marks the bar where price takes out the previous swing high (bullish) or swing low (bearish) in the direction of the prevailing trend. - Bullish BOS = new high beyond the last swing high; bearish BOS = new low beyond the last swing low. - Triangles plot on break; an optional confirmClose filter requires the candle to close beyond the level. - Use BOS, not random breakouts, to align with smart-money positioning. - A BOS in the direction of the prevailing trend is a continuation signal; against the trend it is the precursor to a CHoCH. - Default swing = 5 (works well on 1m–1h); raise to 10+ on daily charts for structural breaks. - Pair with a higher-timeframe trend filter (HTF swing) for cleanest signals. - A BOS that closes strongly (full body through the level) is far more reliable than one that only touches the level with its wick. - Toggle the triangle markers off via showArrows if you want a cleaner chart.
Pivot Bounce trend strategy: long when price breaks above the most recent confirmed swing-high pivot (with two consecutive pivots agreeing), exit on the reverse. - Pivots are confirmed right bars later, so signals never repaint. - Combine with a higher-timeframe trend for cleaner entries. - Use as a breakout filter for any oscillator setup.
Ichimoku Kinko Hyo cloud breakout: long when Tenkan-sen crosses above Kijun-sen AND price is above the cloud (SpanA and SpanB), exit on a cloud re-entry. - The cloud (SpanA/SpanB) is plotted as a filled band. - Combine with a higher-timeframe trend for confirmation. - 9/26/52 is the canonical Ichimoku setting.
Range Filter trend strategy based on a smoothed range channel. Long when price breaks above the upper smoothed boundary; exit on the reverse break. - The smoothed boundaries are plotted on the chart for visual confirmation. - Combine with a higher-timeframe trend filter for cleaner entries. - Use the Length and Smooth Length to tune sensitivity.
TTM Squeeze breakout: when Bollinger Bands move inside the Keltner Channel (volatility compression), wait for the squeeze to release and price to break above the BB basis. - The histogram shows momentum direction; positive = bullish pressure building. - Combine with a higher-timeframe trend for stronger entries. - 20-period is the canonical TTM setting.
Classic Parabolic SAR trend-following: long when price closes above the SAR dots (dots below price), flip to flat when SAR crosses above. - Lower Increment for tighter, faster stops; raise Max for stronger trends. - SAR dots are plotted on the chart for visual confirmation. - Combine with an ADX filter to avoid choppy reversals.
ATR-based Supertrend trend-following: long when the Supertrend flips bullish (green line under price), exit when it flips bearish. - 10/3 is the canonical setting; raise factor for fewer, longer trends. - Combine with an ADX 25 confirmation for strongest setups. - Plot the Supertrend line on the chart for visual confirmation.
Rate of Change momentum strategy: enter when the rate of change over Length bars crosses above Threshold (default 0), exit when it falls back below. - A higher threshold filters for stronger momentum bursts. - Combine with a trend filter (e.g. close 200 SMA) for swing trading. - 10-period ROC is the textbook momentum window.
Turtle-style Donchian Channel breakout: enter on a close above the N-bar high, exit on a close below the M-bar low. Includes an ATR-based trailing stop. - 20/10 is the canonical Turtle pair; 55/20 for slower swings. - Raise ATR Mult for a wider trailing stop, lower for tighter risk control. - Combine with an ADX 25 filter for trending environments only.
Keltner Channel breakout: enter when price closes above the upper band (EMA + ATR multiple), exit when it returns to the basis. - Tighter Mult for faster entries; raise it for stronger breakouts only. - Combine with a volume spike filter for higher-conviction entries. - Plot the basis and upper band on the chart for visual confirmation.
Volatility squeeze breakout: when Bollinger Bands move inside the Keltner Channel (squeeze = vol compression), wait for the upper-band break to confirm direction. - Tighter bbMult keeps entries closer to the basis; raise kcMult for stricter squeeze detection. - The squeeze state is shown via a chart background. - Combine with a momentum filter for cleaner breakouts.
Volatility Squeeze Pro — Bollinger Bands inside Keltner Channel = squeeze (grey background). Histogram shows momentum direction; release of a squeeze in the direction of momentum = high-probability breakout. - Same logic as TTM Squeeze with cleaner histogram colouring.
Smart Money Composite — colours each bar based on whether it broke the most recent confirmed swing high (BOS up = green) or swing low (BOS down = red). The prior swing levels are plotted so structure is visible. - BOS + retest = high-quality entry. - Two BOS in the same direction = trending day.
Adaptive Bollinger Bands — the SMA length adapts via the Efficiency Ratio. Bands squeeze tighter in trends (catch the breakout) and widen in chop (avoid false breakouts). - Mean-reversion trade at the opposite band; trend trade on a close outside.
New high / new low bar colouring — green when a bar makes a new high over the lookback, red when it makes a new low. Quickly shows which side is in control without cluttering the chart. - Useful as a momentum proxy: clusters of one colour reveal persistent trend days. - Combine with volume to spot climactic moves.
Outside bar — colours every bar whose range engulfs the previous bar's range. These are momentum / engulfing candles by definition and often mark a swing high or low. - Two consecutive outside bars in the same direction = momentum expansion. - Use the bar colour (purple) together with direction to read intent.
Inside bar marker — a diamond above every bar whose entire range sits inside the previous bar's range. Tight consolidation patterns that often precede breakouts. - Multiple consecutive inside bars = compression; breakout direction favours the prior swing. - Combine with volume to confirm the expansion leg.
Waddah Attar Explosion combines MACD direction with Bollinger Band Width: green/red columns show MACD building in each direction, the orange line tracks volatility expansion. - Trade only when columns appear together with a rising orange line (real explosion). - Columns without expansion = low-conviction drift, skip. - Histogram colours flip with trend strength.
TTM Squeeze highlights when Bollinger Bands squeeze inside Keltner Channels (vol compression — grey background). The histogram then shows which way momentum is releasing. - Squeeze fires while bands are inside channels; trade the histogram direction once it releases. - Positive green bars = bullish momentum building, red = bearish. - Combine with a higher-timeframe trend filter for cleanest signals.
Volume Climax flags bars where volume is more than 2× the lookback SMA AND the bar's range exceeds 1.5× ATR — climax bars often mark exhaustion. - Use the diamond marker to spot exhaustion in real time, then wait for a follow-through bar in the opposite direction to confirm. - A climax bar inside an existing range is more meaningful than one at the start of a new trend.
BB Squeeze plots Bollinger Bandwidth alongside a Keltner-equivalent width — when BBW falls inside the KC envelope, volatility is compressed. - Background highlights the squeeze. - Watch for the squeeze to release (BBW crossing back above the KC width) — that's the breakout.
