Volatility squeeze breakout: when Bollinger Bands move inside the Keltner Channel (squeeze = vol compression), wait for the upper-band break to confirm direction. - Tighter bbMult keeps entries closer to the basis; raise kcMult for stricter squeeze detection. - The squeeze state is shown via a chart background. - Combine with a momentum filter for cleaner breakouts.
Bollinger Band mean reversion: long at the lower band, exit on the move back to the basis. The bands themselves are plotted for visual confirmation. - Lower Mult for tighter bands (more signals, smaller wins); raise it for stretchier extremes. - Pair with a higher-timeframe trend filter to avoid mean-reverting into a crash. - Best on range-bound assets and short timeframes.
Two Hull Moving Averages crossed against each other — both fast and almost lag-free. Low-lag Triple EMA crossover: TEMA removes the lag of the underlying three-stage EMA cascade. Faster turns than EMA or SMA at the same length. - Best as the fast leg of a crossover pair against a slower EMA. - Lower Fast for tighter entries; raise Slow to anchor the trend filter. - Pair with an ADX 20 filter to skip chop.
The textbook golden/death cross strategy: long when a fast SMA crosses above a slow SMA, exit on the reverse. Slow equal-weight averages smooth through noise better than EMAs but lag more. - 50/200 is the iconic daily pair; 20/50 for shorter timeframes. - Higher Slow means bigger swings and fewer trades. - Combine with a volume filter for cleaner breakouts.
Long-only EMA crossover: enter when the fast EMA crosses above the slow EMA, exit on the reverse cross. The two EMAs are plotted on the chart for visual confirmation. - 9/21 is the classic short-term pair; 20/50 swings between days. - Raise the gap for fewer, larger signals; tighten it for faster flips. - Combine with an ATR-based stop or a higher-timeframe trend filter.
Trend-following MACD crossover long-only: enter on a bullish MACD/signal cross, exit on the bearish cross. The histogram visualises momentum strength. - Raise the spread between Fast and Slow for fewer, larger swings. - Tighter Signal smoothing reacts faster but adds whipsaw in chop. - Combine with an ADX 25 filter to dodge range-bound whipsaws.
Classic RSI mean reversion long-only strategy. Buy when RSI drops into oversold territory, exit when it recovers to the midline. - Lower Oversold for fewer, higher-conviction signals; raise it for more trades. - Exit Level around 50 is the textbook mean; 55–60 holds trades longer. - Best in range-bound markets; combine with an ADX filter for trending ones.
